The Book of Psalms in English & Latin for sale

My English/Latin Psalter, The Book of Psalms in English & Latin, is ready and available at Lulu.com. Anyone interested in a bit of light on my saga of the last few days, trying to resolve a font problem, please see my comment in the previous post.

The psalter can be purchased as a download, or as a softcover book. Much to say on the texts of this book, and their usefulness in today's church, when I don't feel quite so spent.

Gonna force me to learn Latin. *sigh* Every time I start, something comes up. One of these days, months, years, decades.

Think of it this way, Fr. Alan. It's not so much that Latin is required before picking up a book like this, as much as this book can aid your learning of Latin. Also, the book's other great value is the traditional Coverdale Psalms.

What text are you using for the Psalter?

Is the Good Shepherd Psalm #22 or #23?

Dear Anonymous:

This book contains two texts, side by side. One is the English version of Miles Coverdale. The other is the Latin of the traditional Gallican Psalter.

In answer to your second question, the psalms in this book are numbered according to the Hebrew scheme, which is most familiar to modern Lutherans. So, in other words, the Good Shepherd Psalm, Dominus regit me, is Psalm 23.

Paul:

I'm sorry for your difficulty in this matter. I do not know the reason for it, or necessarily how to fix it. Thanks for bringing it to my attention. I will inquire with Lulu Publishing about it. And I strongly recommend that you do so as well. In fact, they might be able to guide you more directly, in terms of figuring out the problem. But I will also let them know of this situation.

Thanks.
